AI Policy For Authors

Bioscird Journal Club Reviews and Reports (BJCRR)

The Bioscird Journal Club Reviews and Reports (BJCRR) is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices. Authors are required to disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies or AI-assisted tools during the preparation of their manuscripts.

The journal recognizes the growing role of AI technologies in academic workflows; however, the responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of submitted work remains entirely with the authors.

1. Disclosure of AI Usage

Authors must clearly disclose the use of any AI-based tools or technologies used during manuscript preparation. This disclosure should be included in an appropriate section of the manuscript such as the Methodology, Acknowledgments, or Supplementary Information.

The disclosure should include:

  • Name of the AI tool or software used
  • Model or version information (if available)
  • Date or period of usage
  • A brief description of how the tool was used in the research or writing process

2. Acceptable Use of AI Tools

AI-assisted technologies may be used for limited support purposes such as:

  • Grammar and language improvement
  • Enhancing readability and clarity
  • Translation assistance
  • Formatting or organizational support

The use of AI tools for generating scientific conclusions, fabricating data, manipulating results, or producing misleading research content is strictly prohibited.

3. Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content, including any material generated or assisted by AI technologies. Manuscripts must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors before submission.

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring originality and factual accuracy.
  • All ethical and publication standards must be maintained regardless of AI assistance.

4. AI-Generated Images and Visual Materials

The use of AI-generated or AI-modified figures, images, illustrations, or graphical content is generally discouraged unless such use is directly relevant to the research methodology.

Where AI-generated visuals are necessary, authors must clearly disclose:

  • The name of the AI tool used
  • The software version (if applicable)
  • The purpose and method of application

AI-assisted tools may be used for generating charts, graphs, or visualizations from original research data, provided the outputs accurately represent the underlying data without manipulation or distortion.

5. Ethical Compliance and Policy Violations

Failure to disclose the use of AI technologies may constitute a violation of publication ethics and journal policy.

Depending on the severity of the issue, the journal may take appropriate editorial actions, including:

  • Requesting clarification or corrections
  • Rejecting the manuscript
  • Withdrawing or retracting published articles
  • Initiating further ethical review procedures

The editorial office reserves the right to use appropriate AI-detection or screening methods to evaluate submissions for policy compliance.
